Alan started his musical career at the age of 11 years playing the clarinet at a Pontins talent contest ( which he won with "Stranger on the Shore" ) The guitar was a close second love and soon he was studying it at the Bromley Music academy in Kent.

His rock & roll roots were firmly established in the 60's by listening to the Beatles, Stones and of course the intricate sounds of the Beach Boys from the States.

He was in good company at Bromley Tech. High School sitting on the same table as David Jones (read Bowie) and having Peter Frampton's dad teach him art. In fact David Bowie and Peter Frampton playing together in the school hall at a dance was Alan's first recollection of being subject to real live Rock and Roll.

Next on the agenda was the formation of a Beatles/Beach Boys style band called Long Island Suite, four local lads from the same street.

After the lads went to colleges in different parts of the country Alan taught classical guitar for a few years and got into the Music retail business. Another band was started with one of his better pupils and they played the local pub circuit.

He worked for many shops over the years and made some good contacts with people like Gordon Giltrap, and other local musicians. It was at this time Alan decided to start a big James Last type band called Capital Pops Orchestra. We played for some Capital Radio gigs and had the horn section from "Cats" the West End show. Alan played alto and baritone sax in the band and did all the admin. It was great, 34 musicians including string section and vocalists. Half of them were female so a good time was had by all. After a year the cost of touring this monster of a band caught up with Alan and it had to end.

So what did he do, he went solo touring around Spain in the clubs and bars but soon met up with a Spanish group looking for an English singer/guitarist. He played for a year touring the costas ,bullrings, beach gigs and hotels by the pool.

When he came back it was time to settle down with business and a rest

from music for a while ............ Alan now helps run a succesful marketing company with his business partner and the help of his wife, Jane .They have a five year old son Nicholas.

He then had the idea for a Beach Boys Tribute band to outdo all other BBs tribute bands, think big, think very big............

the rest is history (as they say)
